A Spring in Your Tresses

The other day I was watching Kourtney and Khloe Take Miami and I was thinking to myself, how does Kourtney get her hair so voluminous and so shiny all the time? It was only later, when I was watching Keeping Up With The Kardashians (don’t judge me … please … it was an E Marathon) and watched Kourtney getting her hair done, that I learnt it was a long and tedious process, the likes of which I haven’t seen since my Year 10 formal.

If, like me, your hair spends most of its time in a bun and only gets let down physically when you are letting it down metaphorically, then the basic products required to keep hair clean, healthy and happy, are your friends.

Having trialed my own fair share of shampoos, conditioners, masks, wonder products and not so wonder products, I’ve compiled a little list here of some of my favourites. Whether you’re going the mermaid route, or are a straight and sleek lover through and through, these are all worth a look …

Shampoo & Conditioner

PPS Caramel Shampoo  RRP $19.95

For those with caramel toned hair, this edibly scented shampoo adds shine and caramel highlights. Cleanses and colours – hello multitasker.

Natralia Nourish Shampoo and Conditioner for Blonde (and other coloured) Hair RRP $29.90

The Natralia Nourish Coloured range comprises products tailored specifically for each of  the (main) hair colours. Make the most of our shade, naturally.

Daily Bath and Body Bliss Shampoo and Conditioner RRP $19.95 (250 ml)

These natural products contain a blend of essential orange and patchouli oils to lift your mood and your hair. Affordable, natural and quality Australian hair care.

The Masque

Sebastian Penetraitt Masque RRP $34

This seriously intense strengthening masque repairs damaged hair and fortifies it against further harm. Prepare your hair for summer (it also smells phenomenal … always a deal sweetener).

Wavy

Salon Only Sea Salt Spray RRP $22

Salt spray is a must for anyone wanting to recreate mermaid hair this Spring/Summer. It adds texture and helps form those hippie waves without being too drying. Love this product.

Straight

Remington Shine Therapy Ceramic Straightener RRP $133.95

Straight hair shouldn’t mean dry hair. This straightener actually improves hair as it straightens, with a formula of nourishing conditioners that rise to the surface of the plates as they heat, coating your hair with non greasy moisture. Genius.

About Olivia Hambrett

Liv Hambrett is the Editor in Chief of Trespass. She has a weakness for the Scandinavian pop scene, doughnuts, and escapism (among many other things). She routinely pours cups of tea and forgets about them, buys international glossy magazines even though they highlight her fashion, fiscal and physical shortcomings and has lost count of how many perfumes she owns. This doesn't stop her from buying more. One day, she will write a bestselling book, turn it into an award winning screenplay, and retire to a villa (or yacht, she's not fussy) in the Mediterranean, to live out the rest of her days in sundrenched peace. If you lose her, look under a pile of books, scrap paper and empty tea cups, or check her bank statements for any recent, rash plane-ticket purchases. Don't try and call her, she's probably lost her phone.
