Eco Beauty

Seeing as it’s Green week at Trespass, it seemed only obvious to hunt down the best green beauty products out there. Everything I have displayed for you is friendly to the environment, and more importantly to you! By avoiding nasty chemical-laden beauty products whenever possible, you are keeping your internal environment clean and healthy. And with something that is as easily ingested as lip gloss, going green seems an almost obvious choice. Maybe you won’t use purely organic and environmentally friendly beauty products, but it’s nice to know that occasionally we can. And when we do, we feel really good about it. So peruse with care, my little greenies…

Giovanni Organic Hair Care Colorflage Range

If we stop thinking only about ourselves for a minute, and think about the damage we can do to the environment by keeping ourselves preened, then shampoo going down the drain is pretty up there in the bad-for-the-environment stakes. So the answer? Organic shampoo and conditioner. There’s no going back!

Suvana Natural Organic Beauty Bio Gloss, RRP $22.95

This little guy is awesome. A completely organic lip gloss, that is super shiny! Tremendous.

Avalon Lavender Facial Cleansing Gel, RRP $23.99

This cleanser foams up nicely, minus the usual damaging-to-your-skin-and-the-environment foaming agents, and removes your makeup like a dream.

Weleda Pomegranate Body Care Range

A delicious range of body products, including body wash, body oil and hand cream. And with the super-antioxidant ingredient, pomegranate, you can’t really wish for more!

Trilogy Age Proof Booster Serum, RRP $45.90

Anything with the words ‘age-proof’ in the title gets me more than a little bit excited. I must admit I squealed with joy when this baby landed on my desk. And it smells absolutely dee-vine. A must have.

Sukin Purifying Facial Mask, RRP $17.50

Pick a night this week to put your feet up and treat your skin. This mask is heavenly.

Al’chemy Vitamin Mask, RRP $17.50

Why stop at your skin, when you can treat your hair naturally as well? Combine facial night with hair mask night. Bliss!

About Romy Grbic

Romy Grbic is Trespass Magazine's Auckland-based Beauty and Style Editor, and was always the kid with the ‘wacky’ parents. This used to be slightly embarrassing when bringing friends home from school, but has turned out to be a blessing in disguise. The 24-year old writer/beauty therapist, living in a house with optimal feng-shui, seems to be following in the footsteps of her slightly alternative parents and carving a road uniquely her own. One leading to self-sustainable living on a large farm with a big organic vegetable garden, and a very large makeup kit and wardrobe. With a diploma in beauty therapy and a degree in sociology, Romy has taken her passion for learning, pretty things and writing and combined them into one, by creating her own website (www.onefabulousday.wordpress.com) on which she blogs optimistically, in the hopes of making the world a better place, both aesthetically and environmentally.
