End of Winter Body Detox

So I heard through the grapevine that it’s going to be 28 degrees in Melbourne today! Now that to me really signifies the end of winter. Or am I being naive again? Anyway, as tomorrow we’ll all be donning jandals (sorry, thongs) and possibly baring a bit of leg, I thought it would be appropriate today to have a browse through some key beauty items we’ll need, when preparing for the arrival of… summer. To be honest, when I first planned this column, I was hoping to receive such items as ‘quick-fix’ body detox kits. Something to get me bikini ready in less than a minute. But as my willpower is not at its best when deprived of my life force (food), I’m actually glad I didn’t get anything like that. You’ll be glad too. Ditch the stupid fad diets and try some of my little tricks instead.

S2 Pink Frangipani Absolute Bath Set, RRP $49.99

This little delight holds everything your skin needs to get rid of winter and say he-llo to summer!  Make the most of the massaging bath pillow while you still can – it will soon be too warm!

Available from Priceline and Priceline Pharmacy Stores, www.priceline.com.au

Miller Harris Couer de Fleur Body Oil, RRP $72

For those of us who enjoy a body oil rather than a moisturiser, try this little gem. Rub into damp skin whilst standing in the shower (with the water off). It’s a dry body oil so you won’t feel greasy; you’ll just smell as delicious as jasmine, peach and vanilla. Yum!

Nivea Firming Body Lotion

Start to build up a gradual tan, and firm your skin at the same time. Yes please!

Model Co Luminosity Shimmer Stick, RRP $32

Fake your way to great legs with this little guy. Apparently all it takes is a swish down your legs, to give the illusion of slimmer, longer pins. I’ll definitely give it a go!

Danne King Hydra Louffa Body Exfoliant, and Maximum Moisture Body Cream, both $69.50

Use this nifty little combo in the shower pre-fake-tanning. I also find it’s nice to moisturise just before hopping into bed – your skin will definitely feel super smooth in the morning!

Napoleon Perdis Sheer Genius Liquid Foundation, RRP $65

A new foundation for the season. This foundation has been developed using skincare principles, so it’s going to fill any unsightly lines and help conceal blemishes. It also contains SPF15 which you must wear everyday!

About Romy Grbic

Romy Grbic is Trespass Magazine's Auckland-based Beauty and Style Editor, and was always the kid with the ‘wacky’ parents. This used to be slightly embarrassing when bringing friends home from school, but has turned out to be a blessing in disguise. The 24-year old writer/beauty therapist, living in a house with optimal feng-shui, seems to be following in the footsteps of her slightly alternative parents and carving a road uniquely her own. One leading to self-sustainable living on a large farm with a big organic vegetable garden, and a very large makeup kit and wardrobe. With a diploma in beauty therapy and a degree in sociology, Romy has taken her passion for learning, pretty things and writing and combined them into one, by creating her own website (www.onefabulousday.wordpress.com) on which she blogs optimistically, in the hopes of making the world a better place, both aesthetically and environmentally.
