Garden Party

Breathe it in. Freesias, warm mornings, fresh cut grass. Spring time. Time for sweet blossoms and little lambs, time for floral print dresses and champagne at the races. Time to pop the stockings away and dust off the short shorts and singlets. Spring is Garden Party time, an excuse to drink punch, wear a pretty frock and imagine you’re on an episode of Midsomer Murders minus the depraved geriatric murderer.

If you’re a Sydney-sider, it’s time to unveil acres of (pallid or faux tanned) skin because that’s just what we do at the first hint of warm weather. And if you’re me, it’s time to crack open the Pimms and spend long afternoons in the sunshine with good friends discussing impending summer plans.

Spring is the season of all things new and fresh. It’s when the world wakes up from a three month slumber during which they’ve overeaten, overdressed and overdone the wine by the fire a few too many times. And so it makes sense that in the world of beauty, Spring products are those invigorating ones that slough off winter scales and, in harnessing the sweetest buds and blooms, put a Spring in our wedge heeled step.

If you’re about to attend/throw a Garden Party/or pretend you’re doing either of the aforementioned, here’s what you need …

About Olivia Hambrett

Liv Hambrett is the Editor in Chief of Trespass. She has a weakness for the Scandinavian pop scene, doughnuts, and escapism (among many other things). She routinely pours cups of tea and forgets about them, buys international glossy magazines even though they highlight her fashion, fiscal and physical shortcomings and has lost count of how many perfumes she owns. This doesn't stop her from buying more. One day, she will write a bestselling book, turn it into an award winning screenplay, and retire to a villa (or yacht, she's not fussy) in the Mediterranean, to live out the rest of her days in sundrenched peace. If you lose her, look under a pile of books, scrap paper and empty tea cups, or check her bank statements for any recent, rash plane-ticket purchases. Don't try and call her, she's probably lost her phone.
