Breathe it in. Freesias, warm mornings, fresh cut grass. Spring time. Time for sweet blossoms and little lambs, time for floral print dresses and champagne at the races. Time to pop the stockings away and dust off the short shorts and singlets. Spring is Garden Party time, an excuse to drink punch, wear a pretty frock and imagine you’re on an episode of Midsomer Murders minus the depraved geriatric murderer.

If you’re a Sydney-sider, it’s time to unveil acres of (pallid or faux tanned) skin because that’s just what we do at the first hint of warm weather. And if you’re me, it’s time to crack open the Pimms and spend long afternoons in the sunshine with good friends discussing impending summer plans.

Spring is the season of all things new and fresh.
