We all know the songs. And we all know every single word to all the songs. We know you can all sing Doe A Deer in a round formation with your friends, and it’s physically impossible not to well up over Climb Every Mountain. And Edelweiss, oh Edelweiss – what a song.
It was the movie musical that took the world by storm in 1965 and sent millions of people spinning about the green hills of Austria, warbling ‘the hills are alive …’ (you’re all totally finishing the lyric off in your head, aren’t you.)
So we here at Trespass can’t help but get a flutter of excitement at the prospect of a giant sing-a-long, happening at the State Theatre in Sydney this March. Presented in full-screen technicolour with song lyrics accompanying each song, Sing-A-Long -A Sound of Music is an audience participation event where the surprise host leads a vocal warm-up, gives a guide to the use of the interactive fun pack and accompanying actions and (with a little help from the audience) judges the Costume Parade – yes people … a COSTUME PARADE.
So frock up for the ultimate musical affirmation – it’s time to sing with Julie (and a theare full of revellers). Don’t be shy. As Maria says,
“When you know the notes to sing, you can sing most anything!”
WE HAVE FOUR DOUBLE PASSES TO GIVE AWAY TO THIS SHAMELESSLY FUN EVENT.
