In the Loop Blu-ray and DVD Giveaway – CLOSED

Armando Iannucci’s debut feature film, In the Loop is one of the best British films of recent times. Released on blu-ray and DVD in Australia on the 23rd June, this scathing political satire is a hilarious (and at times disturbingly realistic) look at the inner-workings of the British and American Governments. Developed from the successful BBC TV show, The Thick of It, the feature film looks at the build up to the invasion of Iraq, travelling between the backroom politics of the US and UK.

Showing that he who shouts loudest, shouts longest, Scottish actor Peter Capaldi reprises his TV role as Labour spin-doctor, Malcolm Tucker (a cheeky version of Tony Blair’s spin doctor Alastair Campbell). With the best lines, Tucker’s propensity for coming up with increasingly rude and clever insults is legendary, and is in parts thanks to a ‘swearing consultant’  called Ian Martin, who worked on the TV show as well as this film.

Also transferring from the TV show to film is Chris Addison playing Toby, a useless new aide, caught up in international politics and warmongering. Joining members of the TV cast are British actors- Tom Hollander (Pirates of the Caribbean series), Gina McKee (The Forsyte Saga), Steve Coogan (24 Hour Party People) and American actors,-James Gandolfini (The Sopranos), Mimi Kennedy (Dharma and Greg) and Anna Chlumsky (My Girl).

Thanks to the lovely people at Madman we have two blu-ray and three DVDs copies of In the Loop to give away. To go into the draw you must be an Australian resident. Simply email your name and address to olivia@trespassmag.com by the 23rd June for your chance to win. Make sure you put ‘In the Loop’ in the title of the email and specify whether you want a blu-ray or DVD copy.
