Lounging in Harem

If there’s a trend I loathed at first sight, the Harem pant is it. Until, for fashion’s intents and purposes, I slipped a pair on. And it was love at first wear. If you don’t yet own a pair of harem pants, I beg you: buy some now. With so much room, comfort and effortless chic about them, you won’t want to wear anything else for a long time. Team with a slim tank and sneakers/gladiator sandals for day, and an embellished top and sky-high heels for night. With health experts warning us against the physical pitfalls of skinny jeans on our hips and girly bits, these lazy lady loves are just what the doctor ordered. Here are my picks of the best, and for a little colour injection, check out Sass & Bide’s pair.

#1: Just Jeans Cotton Harem Pants –  $59.95 (left)

#2: Sass and Bide Cracker Jacks - $250.00 (right)

#3: One Teaspooon Roamin Pant – $79.95 at Beginning Boutique (bottom centre)

About Sarah Ayoub

Sarah Ayoub is organised chaos in the flesh. Nerdy, culture-savvy and a tad over-excited, she flits between university study (where she’s preparing for a doctorate), shopping centres (where she impulse-buys things like designer handbags and chocolate coins) and her bedroom, (where she writes at a computer surrounded by writer’s mess). Shy but flamboyant, a brain but a bimbo, conservative but open-minded, Sarah decided to pursue a career as a journalist because she wanted to be Lois Lane and Clark Kent’s love child (inheritor of enviable journalistic skills and the ability to fly) and because her plan to be a psychiatrist was shelved after a viewing of The Sixth Sense. Desperately in need of a time machine, Sarah Ayoub is an iron fist in a velvet glove - and a walking contradiction that makes perfect sense.
