Orange You Gorgeous

Everyone loves an orange pun. And at this time of year (for the past few years at least) everyone loves the colour orange, in all its shades and names – Coral, Peach, Mango, Tangerine, Soda Pop, Citrus … you name it, this season is all about it.

Psychics associate orange auras with intellectual ambition and stubbornness and this vibrant hue also happens to be the national colour of the Netherlands. Orange is also one of the few words in the English language which doesn’t have a rhyming counterpart and comes from the Sanskrit word, nāranja. Thank you Wikipedia.

To me, the colour orange is summer. It is summer fruits and deep tans, bright nails and sweet cocktails. It’s bright and fizzy and instantly cheering. If you’re after a pick me up or the reassurance summer is on its way, take a look at what I’ve got for you this week …

About Olivia Hambrett

Liv Hambrett is the Editor in Chief of Trespass. She has a weakness for the Scandinavian pop scene, doughnuts, and escapism (among many other things). She routinely pours cups of tea and forgets about them, buys international glossy magazines even though they highlight her fashion, fiscal and physical shortcomings and has lost count of how many perfumes she owns. This doesn't stop her from buying more. One day, she will write a bestselling book, turn it into an award winning screenplay, and retire to a villa (or yacht, she's not fussy) in the Mediterranean, to live out the rest of her days in sundrenched peace. If you lose her, look under a pile of books, scrap paper and empty tea cups, or check her bank statements for any recent, rash plane-ticket purchases. Don't try and call her, she's probably lost her phone.
