Palestinian Film Festival

We hear and read a lot about Palestine. The morning headlines, the evening news; we are all too familiar with the images of pain, loss and anger beamed into our living rooms, with an accompanying track of political analysis by historians and Middle East specialists. It is time to hear the stories from the source, the people themselves. What does it mean to be Palestinian? Is there more to the Palestinian experience than the Israel question? Let’s find out…

Returning for its second year the Palestinian Film Festival will start in Sydney before travelling south to Melbourne, then Adelaide. There is an exciting program including both short and feature films. Exploring the multiple voices of a nation held in suspension, the festival showcases animation, comedy, poetry, drama and documentary. Examining topics from Palestinian Hip Hop to the brilliant mind of the late academic Edward Said, the range of films promise to entertain, inform and broaden our understanding of what it means to be Palestinian.
