Sweet Sixteen

Sixteen. Ahhhh, such a blissful age. NOT. I distinctly remember feeling very awkward and strange when I was sixteen. I am much happier being a fabulous twenty-something, thank you very much. It is much easier for us twenty-somethings to revel in our own fabulousness, we finally feel comfortable (ish) in our own skin, we (hardly) get breakouts, and we (almost) fully understand how to apply our makeup correctly. But, this week, I thought I’d take a skip, or more a gentle stroll, down memory lane – and revisit my teens.

Covergirl Clean Skin Liquid Foundation, RRP $15.99, and Pressed Powder, RRP $16.99

This is a lightweight foundation specifically designed for teenage skin. And we know that teenagers can often go a little bit crazy with their foundation, as a general rule, make sure you blend, blend, blend. We don’t want any of those nasty lines around the edge of your face.

Biore Deep Cleansing Pore Strips, RRP $12.99

Cheeky blackheads run rampant on oily teenage skin, and there’s a certain ‘cool’ feeling attached to wearing one of these (or is that just me?)

Tokyo Belle Beauty Kit, RRP $32

This little pack is so cool! It has all your beauty kit essentials, and is packaged in a cutie little tin.

Covergirl Wetslicks Amazemint Lip Gloss, RRP $15.99

Minty, pink – what more is a sixteen year old girl after?

About Romy Grbic

Romy Grbic is Trespass Magazine's Auckland-based Beauty and Style Editor, and was always the kid with the ‘wacky’ parents. This used to be slightly embarrassing when bringing friends home from school, but has turned out to be a blessing in disguise. The 24-year old writer/beauty therapist, living in a house with optimal feng-shui, seems to be following in the footsteps of her slightly alternative parents and carving a road uniquely her own. One leading to self-sustainable living on a large farm with a big organic vegetable garden, and a very large makeup kit and wardrobe. With a diploma in beauty therapy and a degree in sociology, Romy has taken her passion for learning, pretty things and writing and combined them into one, by creating her own website (www.onefabulousday.wordpress.com) on which she blogs optimistically, in the hopes of making the world a better place, both aesthetically and environmentally.
