The film is excellent. Shocking, harrowing and powerful in its unapologetic representation of a volatile period in Germany’s history. Alice Tynan and I sat there wide eyed, every so often gasping ‘oh no …’ or averting our gaze from the terror and bloodshed - as difficult as it was to tear our eyes away from the performances of the immensely talented cast who brought sympathy and reason to acts of abhorrent violence.
